Duff House is a romantic, fairy-tale venue for either a wedding ceremony or for photography and many couples have already enjoyed sharing their special day with family and friends in the unique historic setting of the house and grounds.
Marriage ceremonies are held in the Great Drawing Room (Salon) on the second floor. The bridal party may use the North Drawing Room alongside before the ceremony and for wedding photographs and a celebratory glass of wine or refreshment after the ceremony. The remaining wedding guests may enjoy a glass of wine or refreshment in the Long Gallery whilst wedding photography takes place. Please see below for costs.
Wedding photographs can be taken inside the house using the stunning classical gilt interiors as a grand backdrop, and also outside in the lovely grounds around the House. Each ceremony, religious or civil, is tailored specifically to the requirements of the bride and groom. Our grand piano is available at no extra cost for musical accompaniment or to lead hymn singing. There is a lift available for wedding guests who have difficulty with stairs.
Costs
In 2012 the wedding ceremony fee is £1120, and a deposit of £250 is required at the time of booking. Please note the deposit is non-refundable.
The South Drawing Room seats 80 guests. The provision of a minister or registrar, photographer, musician and flowers is the responsibility of the Bride and Groom but do let us know if we can help in any way.
Please note: if required, wine or refreshments are provided by Duff House at an additional cost. They are not included in the wedding ceremony fee.
Wedding photography may take place in the House at no additional cost.
Photographers are welcome to make a reconnaissance visit and liaise with Duff House staff beforehand if they need to use specialist lighting. Florists are also welcome to visit in advance for the placing of flower arrangements in the house.
Conditions of Hire
Bridal cars and/or carriages may pull up to the front of the House on the gravel only. Please do not drive on the grass. We would be grateful if you would also ask your guests, not to use confetti in the House or grounds. Why not try using bubbles as an alternative? We also require any guests not in the wedding party itself and the photographer, to please use the car parking facilities available. We are afraid that we cannot accommodate additional cars in the area in front of the House for health and safety reasons. There is a designated parking area at the side of the House for any guests who require disabled access to the wedding. Please note that we do need these vehicles to display a disabled badge.
